Q: Are we pesticide free?
A: Yes we are! We are on the IPM program which stands for Integrated Pest Management Program. In simple terms this means we use good bugs to eat the bad bugs.
Q: Do we use preservatives in our Bakery items, Jams, and Jellies?
A: No, we do not. Everything is homemade
Q: What is the shelf life on our Pies?
A: About 4-5 days
Q: Are our Bakery products freezable?
A: Yes, all of our products freeze great!
Q: Do you use city water, or well water?
A: 90% of our crops are watered with city water
Q: Are you Organic?
A: No we are not organic, but we don’t spray chemicals on our crops, we use bugs
Q: Are you open all-year round?
A: No, we are seasonal. We are open from the beginning of June until September 2, 2013. Then we will be on the honour system from Nov 1 until there is no more stock.
Q: Are your eggs free range?
A: Yes they are! We have lots of chickens that run underneath an acre of our Kiwi. This protects them from Eagles, Raccoons, and fertilizes our land, and they keep the weeds down. It’s great for both parties!
Q: How long do your eggs normally last?
A: Our eggs are collected daily, and have a shelf life of about 2 months. FYI- we usually sell out daily, so come out early!
Q: Do you take back your cartons?
A: Yes, we certainly do. If they are clean and in good shape.
Q: Do you pick your produce daily?
A: Yes, all of our fruits and vegetables are picked on a daily basis.
Q: Are dogs or pets welcome in your fruit Stand?
A: No they are not. We sell food, that being said CRD would not allow it.
Q: Do you sell your chickens, and are they eatable?
A: Yes we sell our chickens every November, and no they are not eatable, they are simply for laying.
Q: Do you supply other stores, where could I find your produce?
A: Yes we certainly do! You can find us at Red Barn at Mattick Farm, Market on Yates and Millstream, Thrifty Foods, Old Farm Market in Duncan, Cassidy Market, Country Grocer in Esquimalt, Royal Oak. You can also find us on your dinner plate at Spinnakers Pub and Brewery!
